A northern, southern and western view of the city of Syracuse comes with this luxury corner penthouse in Mission Landing. The 3,300-square-foot condominium with a private rooftop deck features soaring ceilings, exposed antique wood beams and 12-foot-high paned windows. The condo is at 429 N. Franklin St. in the Mission Landing development in Franklin Square. It was designed by Holmes, King and Kallquist architects in 1990. The space was carved out of what was originally the Monarch Typewriter factory, built in 1906. "This was raw space when it was originally designed," said Peggy Cadaret, real estate representative from Prudential First Properties. The interior designer was Chester Sagenkahn. The two-floor condo with three bedrooms and three full bathrooms is priced at $969,900.
Palm Coast's only theater for sale
PALM COAST -- Flagler County's only movie theater doesn't have stadium-style seating with cushy recliners or concession stands stocked with gourmet treats. That suits owner Kenneth Pierce just fine. Pierce, who's co-owned Picture Show III in St. Joe Plaza in Palm Coast with his wife, Eunice, since 1998, says the small, three-screen theater does well without the fancy trappings that have become the hallmark of the modern American movie theater. Pierce said he's been able to retain loyal customers despite the lure of big box theaters like the Ormond Beach 12 or Ocean Walk in Daytona Beach because he offers something the competition doesn't: the personal touch. Pierce said he knows many of his customers by name and can tell parents if a movie may be too racy for children.

For Insurance, Policies to Live By
SAN FRANCISCO -- Ideally, you never need to file a homeowners insurance claim. But if and when you do, that difficult process will be a lot easier if you avoid some common mistakes people make, said David Siesko, an insurance expert and founder of Siesko Partners, a consultant to companies on insurance issues. Many homeowners probably stash their policy in a desk drawer without ever reading the whole thing, but that's a mistake. Homeowners should check their policies to make sure they have the coverage they need and that they're getting it at a good value. .
